"It’s a Schonberg."

"Several times each day, we answer the question, ‘Is this in the best interest of each of our residents?' If the answer is yes, then we can’t go wrong. This simple operating philosophy is the secret to our continued success.” —David Schonberg

When David Schonberg develops or manages an Assisted Living community, his top priorities are the safety and wellbeing of each resident. This commitment has enabled him to build and manage communities nationwide that represent the utmost in senior care. Advocating the behavioral approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care, Schonberg communities emphasize meeting the social, intellectual, nutritional and spiritual needs of each resident. David perfected the “neighborhood” community design concept, wherein residents are evaluated for living in one of three neighborhoods providing incremental levels of care.  Each 'neighborhood' includes individual bedrooms and a community dining room, living room and other common spaces.  This innovative community design enhances the residents' fulfilling sense of community, familiarity, safety and support, allowing them to age comfortably in a home-like environment.  Those residents living in the highest level of care 'neighborhood' are provided the specialized attention required of degenerative memory impairment conditions. For families, the community offers peace of mind both for them and their loved ones. The management teams and staff at each Schonberg community take personal responsibility to ensure that the needs of each resident are met, and they go above and beyond the call of duty to maintain the Schonberg standard of care everyday.
