History

David Schonberg founded Schonberg and Associates in 2001 when he began assembling a team of South Louisiana’s finest architects, contractors, developers and investors to realize his dream: to own and operate the region’s premier Assisted Living community. Melding his passion for real estate development with his expertise in elder care, Schonberg’s first facility in Houma, Louisiana, was just the beginning. In the eleven years since, he has developed another top-notch facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and has diversified his business model and geographic reach by purchasing three Assisted Living and Memory Care communities in South Carolina. Schonberg has also expanded his New Orleans-area-home office staff to include a JD/MBA, Stuart Coleman, at the helm of the company's finance function, and long-time assisted living executive, Tyler Troutman, to direct operations, construction and marketing for a new facility in New Orleans.  Stuart, Tyler and David work collaboratively on the company's strategic risk management and growth planning for the ever-expanding repertoire of communities in the Schonberg and Associates family.  The company broke ground on Ashton Manor Senior Living in Luling, Louisiana in the fall of 2011 and plan to open Vista Shores Assisted Living and Memory Care in New Orleans, Louisiana in March 2012.
